1st November 2023
The Doctor's Kitchen Podcast

I was interviewed by my dear fried, Rupay Aujla. I talk about being a voice for women of colour and also about the stigma that still surrounds the menopause. I share my lived experience of the menopause, about how changing my fitness training from mostly running-based fitness to include strength training completely shifted my weight. We also talk about women from South Asian backgrounds and why it’s still an uphill battle to break down the taboo of women’s health in general. This and also notes about spices and their medicinal properties, and how to combine flavourful ingredients for health and why the backbone of Indian cooking is healthier than most people think.

Himalayan Feast, Riverford Field Kitchen

7pm arrival each night for dinner at 7.30pm

"Romy will be bringing her vibrant and much celebrated approach to Indian cooking to The Riverford Field Kitchen and will be creating a menu featuring her favourite recipes from her book.

The recipes shine a light on the magnificent, little-known cuisine of Kashmir and Leh, celebrating its land, its people, its ingredients, and its heritage. Heavily influenced by Mughal, Persian, Afghan and Central Asian styles of cooking, it offers up a diverse range of dishes, displaying and revelling in a fusion of flavours and influences. Romy will kick off the evening by introducing the menu and will share some of her experiences behind creating the book. She will then be on hand throughout the event to eat with and meet our gathered guests, as well as doing a book signing towards the end."

£50 per person. See here for booking details.
