Food, Culture & Identity WITH Romy Gill, Yasmin Khan and Dan Saladino

You can’t open a newspaper these days without finding some reference to the topic of migration and the impact of the current refugee crisis on our cultural identity .

Chefs Romy Gill of Romy’s Kitchen, and Yasmin Khan of the Saffron Tales, talks to the Food Programme’s Dan Saladino about the role of migration in developing food culture.

Whether it’s the British passion for heavily spiced Indian foods, or the fashionable rise of cooking Persian cuisine at home, our panel will discuss the important role that chefs play in raising awareness of cuisine and its culture, and ask what the impact is on the existing food traditions of a particular community or place.

More speakers to be announced soon. Ticket price includes samples of a dish that each chef feels best represents their food identity.
